Due to the COVID-19 outbreak the 2020 Burtle Harvest Home was postponed and will now take place on Saturday August 6th 2022

Burtle Village Harvest Home is held every 4 years since its resurrection in 2000.  The last Harvest Home was 2016 and, like the Olympics, was scheduled to be held again in the Summer of 2020.  As we all know, the summer of 2020 was a non-event with virtually everything cancelled or held virtually due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  Undeterred plans are already well in hand to reschedule the event for 2022 and this looks set to be the biggest and best ever.

Make a note in your diaries now for this major village celebration, Saturday August 6th 2022.

This year's event will be filmed by Outline Productions for part of a series for Channel 4.  All attendees and participants agreeing to filmed as part of this event must complete and sign a release form (Adult Release form).  Any children that also may be filmed will also need a release form completed by their parent or guardian (Child Release Form).

Competitions

As with previous events there are several competitions for residents to participate in.

Scarecrows - create a scarecrow and display outside your home from Monday August 1st.  No theme this year so let your imagination go.  Entry forms can be downloaded here.

Decorated Hoops and Baskets - Very traditional, decorate a hoop (approximate hoola hoop size) or Basket with flowers etc.  Please note these are hung up in the marquee for display during the event so nothing too large or heavy please.  Entry forms can be download here.

Children's Fancy Dress - Children are invited to dress up for the occasion and join the parade or assemble at the marquee to be judged before the lunch.  A prize will be give to the best Girl and best Boy.  Entry forms can be download here.

Tickets

Lunch tickets are now sold out, however, we are starting a reserve list in case people drop out at the last minute. Please contact Steve Allen (sgadbd@gmail.com, Tel: 01278723670).  Evening tickets are still available for £5.00, under 16yr olds free entry in the evening.

As in previous years persons under 18 (including babies and toddlers) are not allowed into the marquee during the lunch event unless acting as servers.

Luncheon - Adults only

Adult Day Ticket - Lunch and Evening £25.00

Evening Only

Persons 16 and over -  £5.00

Persons under 16 free entry

Please note you may be asked to show proof of age on entry if you wish to purchase alcohol.

Crèche

Regrettably there will be NO CRECHE facilities provided.  Use of the hall for parents/adults to supervise their own or other children may be possible but this will be UNSUPERVISED and parents MUST make their own arrangements to ensure their children are safe and supervised at all times.

Live entertainment in the evening

This year's main live entertainment will be provided by Six Machine.  This local band is very popular in the area with a strong following.  Having seen them in action we know you will love them.

Disco - Bar - Pig Roast/Chips

The event will be held at the field adjoining the Burtle Village Hall.  Please note that inside the marquee and hall will be strictly non-smoking at all times.  Car parking is available in the field the other side of the hall.

There is a lot of work to be done both before the event and on the day, if you can help at all please contact a member of the committee.  We are also looking for sponsors to help defray the cost, please visit the Sponsorship page for more details or contact Steve Allen.
